Anticipation

Baby is coming!  Such special news!

Should we buy pinks, or should we buy blues?

We just cannot wait; we all want to know,

Results are in the envelope as the curiosities grow,

Can’t believe… “it’s a girl”, the first one in forever,

There is always a glimpse of hope, so never say never,

A precious little girl for her daddy to spoil,

Wrapped around his finger in a neat little coil,

A precious little girl for her mama to love,

Truly a miracle sent from above,

A precious little girl for her uncles to dote,

Everything she does will have a sugarcoat,

A precious little girl for her aunties to pamper,

She is bound to be a happy camper,

A precious little girl for her grandmothers to hold,

To them she will be more precious than gold,

Juanita, Marissa, Lucile, or Caroline?

Any of those names will be fine,

Baby girl will be cared for by all of us,

Even if they decide to name her “Gus”!
