Available 24/7

This poem was inspired by Chris B., a preschool teacher/friend of mine, who teaches her preschoolers that God does not sleep.

God Does Not Sleep

In the middle of the night, when you cannot sleep,
God is up and His love is deep,
Call on Him, ask Him for rest,
He will take your burden off your chest,
In the early morning, when you rise,
Call on Him, He is wise,
Ask Him to guide you on your way,
Then go and have a fantastic day,
At lunch, when you sit down to eat,
Bow your head when you take a seat,
Humbly ask Him to bless your food,
He appreciates a thankful attitude,
In the highway traffic at rush hour,
Ask Him for your safety, He has the power,
God has no voicemail on His “phone”,
He is always there, you are never alone,
There is nothing He does not do,
Except He does not sleep, He is there for you,
God does not sleep, He watches over us,
That is why in Him we should always trust,
Even though He is up in heaven,
He is always available, 24/7.
